Meet Dani Murphy
About Dani murphy
Family Law Attorney in Summerville, SC
Attorney Danielle “Dani” Murphy is a Summerville native who brings strong local roots, courtroom experience, and a client-focused approach to her family law practice at Leviner Law Firm.
Born and raised in Summerville, Dani graduated from Summerville High School before earning her Bachelor of Science degree from the College of Charleston. After college, she married her high school sweetheart, Michael H. Murphy IV, and the couple moved to North Carolina as they pursued the next chapter of their careers.
Dani went on to attend Campbell Law School, where she gained valuable courtroom and advocacy experience that continues to influence how she represents clients today.
Developing Her Skills as an Advocate
While attending Campbell Law School, Dani participated in the school’s Mock Trial Advocacy Team. She competed in the Estrella Trial Advocacy Competition in San Juan, Puerto Rico, where her team earned first place.
Dani also served at the Campbell Community Law Clinic, where she advocated for community members facing eviction. Her work earned her a book award and gave her meaningful experience representing people dealing with stressful, high-stakes legal problems.
Those experiences helped shape Dani’s approach to practicing law: prepare carefully, listen closely, communicate clearly, and never lose sight of the person behind the case.
Experience Inside the Courtroom
After law school, Dani served as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Diane S. Goodstein.
Working within the court system gave Dani the opportunity to observe how cases are presented, how legal arguments are evaluated, and how preparation can affect the course of a hearing or trial.
That perspective is particularly valuable in family law, where important decisions involving children, finances, property, and the future of a family may ultimately be decided by a judge.
Dani understands that effective family law representation requires more than simply knowing the law. It requires careful preparation, a clear understanding of the client’s goals, thoughtful negotiation, and the ability to advocate effectively in court when necessary.
Helping Families Navigate Difficult Transitions
Dani practices in all areas of family law and represents clients facing some of the most personal and consequential legal issues they may ever experience.
Her family law practice includes matters involving:
- Divorce
- Child custody and visitation
- Child support
- Alimony and spousal support
- Division of marital property and debts
- Separation and marital agreements
- Modifications of existing family court orders
- Enforcement and contempt matters
- Other family court disputes
Family law cases rarely affect only one area of a person’s life. A divorce may involve questions about a home, finances, parenting schedules, support, retirement accounts, and what daily life will look like after the case is over.
Dani works to help clients understand their options, identify what matters most, and make informed decisions about the path forward.
Whenever possible, she seeks practical solutions that protect her client’s interests without creating unnecessary conflict.
When litigation is necessary, her advocacy and courtroom background help her prepare to protect her client’s position before the court.
A Summerville Attorney Serving Her Hometown
For Dani, practicing family law in Summerville is personal. This is the community where she grew up, attended school, built relationships, and ultimately chose to raise her own family.
That connection gives her an appreciation for the people and families she serves and reinforces her commitment to providing attentive, personalized representation.
Dani and her husband, Michael, live in Historic Downtown Summerville with their daughter, Rowan, and their four chickens—Sunny, Mo, Red, and Cinnamon—who keep the family supplied with plenty of farm-fresh eggs.
Outside the office, Dani attends church and enjoys hiking, boating, spending time outdoors, and being with her family.
At Leviner Law Firm, Dani combines her local roots, family law practice, courtroom experience, and commitment to advocacy to help clients navigate difficult family transitions with greater clarity and confidence.
